Hello, Elementary School Families.
Happy November! Tuesday, November 14th is recognized as Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day. Ruby Bridges was the first black child to attend formerly "whites-only" William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana in 1960. This was a huge moment for Civil Rights and a day that is recognized in our community as a day to celebrate Ruby Bridges, her courage, and the courage of all black and brown people facing adversity.
On November 14th, our students who ride the bus will be dropped off in an FRCS parking lot and will walk to the building holding signs about Ruby Bridges as a community. This will impact the flow of traffic for families who drop off their students in the morning. Please expect re-routing and a bit of traffic. You are encouraged to use the FRCS North entrance at 131 Central, drive down to the ES, and use the first parking lot to get to the carline lanes.
Thank you for your flexibility and patience as we come together and recognize Ruby Bridges.
In Service,
Nicole Ouimet
Elementary School Principal
